cancer is the primary means of death for those who have healthy hearts etc. This goes along with the immortality thread. If people were immortal, how would you solve the overcrowding problem?

Let's face it, old people are useless, they are milking off the goverment. I know we can't expect them to work. In many countries, including the U.S. empoloyers just won't hire old people. They are important for the family structure of course, and could help raise kids. But most families aren't as close as they used to be, and the kids really don't get to know their grandparents.

Given the choice between saving kids, and saving people over 75 I think the choice is obvious.

It's because everyone who is against immortality is basically saying life sucks, but dosen't always have the intellectual integrity to say so.

Not really. Arabs died from it just as much as anyone else, and they were quite clean, by 14th century standards. Fleas don't care whether you wash after you wipe.

Actually, fleas don't even like biting humans. Only if you have a very severe infestation will fleas bite people in normal times. Under certain conditions, though, the plague bacteria will form a plug in the flea's gut, causing it to starve. Then it will bite anything, including humans. Because it's starving, it gorges on blood, then throws up right back into the wound because it can't hold all the blood. The flea blood-vomit contains plague, human gets plague, etc.

None of which has anything to do with Europeans being dirty or not.
