And Sava, actually I thought Clinton was one of the better presidents in some time, and Regan as well (but for a very different set of reasons). I would rank both at just a shade above average.
Still, IMO, what made these two LOOK better than they actually were is that the presidents on either side of them were AWFUL.
It's easy to look good when you're standing next to a troll.
And even still...even if we give them the benefit of the doubt and call them good presidents, that's still a Loooooooong ways off from being a truly GREAT president.

I wonder what they would say about the state of America today?
They didn't have nice things to say about the concentration of wealth, you know?
And conservatives misunderstand most of those quotes. I'm not surprised that you do.
BTW, I don't disagree with anything they are saying, really. Those quotes are all about the ABUSES about the OVEREXTENSION of government power. You have to take into consideration the times. The "government" Jefferson and Paine knew was the Crown... England. Of course they aren't going to have nice things to say about government power. Which is probably why the US government was designed with checks and balances, to limit any one branches' power. But then again, I'm not surprised conservatives don't understand this either.
But then again, go ahead and use those quotes (out of proper context) to trumpet the conservative ideology to "paralyze the government" towards the goal of economic exploitation.
Such a noble cause!

well sponsorship is a good thing indeed... must have money to support the pay increases afterall andf sponsorship is easier on the balance sheet than taxes... struth we would need to get the accountants involved if we start raising taxes, and they out the back getting the bbq ready for lunch

And I think we should really talk to the IRS folks too. Make taxes an elective for a year (do the paperwork, and if you owe, you can choose either to send in the payment or not). And of course, if you DO send the money, we'll get the IRS to send you a free Tee!
