Video 2. Parents of a PPCLI trooper who want their son to know that they, and a lot of other Canadians, support him and his buddies.

People wonder why we are pumping public money into a network that aired that 'balanced' segment?

Meanwhile, Boom Boom Geffrion was on his death bed and asked his wife and daughter to leave his side to go to Montreal for his jersey retirement ceremony. There they were greeted by his sons, but while they were travelling he died. During the ceremony, one of the sons related the story of how Bernie promised his wife on their first date (a boxing match at the Forum) that his number would be up there beside her fathers one day. Then up his number went beside her fathers.

The issue is the MPs of a recently deceased government, and their lackeys, trying to question Harper for a commitment that their own PM made.

If you mean the NDP, you might want to clear up your recollections of their past positions. While I wholeheartedly disagree with their opposition to our involvement in Afghanistan, they've been at it since long before the Liberals got booted out.

Also, I don't know what the Liberals' position has been on Afghanistan since Jan. The motion for a floor debate was sponsored by the NDP, and did not grab the support of anybody else, AFAIK

Did his presence there in any way shorten their tour of duty? Nope.

I thought my last few posts would have made things clear. The NDP means ****. They never take more than 20% of the vote, on a good day.

The media matter, because they shape the views of the mainstream (those who elect governments).

Where from has the sudden debate about the mission come from?

I point, again, to the segment aired on the CBC National news where wing nuts are getting equal time with parents desperately wanting the country to support their children who have been flung into harms way.

The last poll I saw put substantial opposition to Afghanistan up there (indicated desire to pull troops out immediately by a significant minority)
