    Edmonton lost to St. Louis.

    Not only this, but against their third-string goalie.

    Not only this, but it was 23 seconds from being a shutout by said third-string goalie, Edmonton could only score after over a minute of a 6-4...

    Meanwhile, the hockey gods continue to smile on Calgary.

    San Jose wins, putting pressure on Edmonton/Vancouver.

    Colorado loses.

        Fifth string goalie. He's the fifth guy to play there so far this year.

        The first 50 minutes were 50 of the worst minutes of hockey played by Edmonton this year.

          The Oilers declined to participate in the 45-minute pre-game ceremony, feeling it was inappropriate for the Blues to honour MacInnis before a late-season game that held meaning to them. Among those not involved in the ceremony was defenceman Chris Pronger, a longtime teammate of MacInnis' before being traded last September.

            What the hell? Because it "held meaning" to them?

            Habs have had 2 retirement ceremonies, one of which over a man who had died that day. Oilers can't put up with a 45 minute ceremony?

              Although I do think it would make more sense to retire the jersey at a Calgary/St. Louis game, considering he won the Stanley Cup and spent 13 seasons with Calgary...

                They just sat in their locker room for the 45 minutes.

                          The magic/tragic number is 5.

                          Vancouver drops points and Edmonton gains points leading to 5 has Edmonton in and Vancouver out. The number is magic/tragic for Crawford and MacTavish as well as the fans.

                          However, no matter how those points go, I don't see an 8th place team limping into the post season as being able to go anywhere unless they find a higher gear really fast.

                          Win lose or draw, I think the Oilers would learn more from playing Detroit than anyone else. I'm not sure what would benefit Vancouver.

                            Tough loss for Vancouver. They played well and had a lot of jump, but Auld let in a few soft ones to start the game.

                            The back-to-back games with San Jose should be interesting.

                                You know, until recently I was eyeing 6th place so that the Habs would face the Rangers (who we've beaten pretty consistently this season) in the first round.

                                Right now, placing seventh and meeting up with Ottawa doesn't seem like such a bad idea either.

                                We've beaten them twice in the last week...
