I'll take it. The Oilers didn't need a 1st round pick in an off year. You forget we have scoring leaders playing junior because KLowe wanted to give them time to develop.

Which team doesn't? Look at the hockeyfutures.com prospects for Calgary, the guys who were called up were ranked like 16th best prospect.

Schremp is gonna have a rocking rookie year if things progress as they should.

Hemsky, Horcoff, Smyth, Samsonon, Schremp, Stoll, Peca, Pisani... and then 3 20 goal Dmen.

The NW is gonna be a shooting gallery next year.

What the Oilers need is a team that has heart and works hard. Schremp is not one of those people.

It doesn't matter if you've got lots of talent (even the oilers now are loaded with talent). The team lacks focus, lacks heart, lacks strategy, lacks direction, and lacks leadership. The sooner the management team in Edmonton clicks in the sooner they'll be better off.

In the meantime, continue chanting to yourself "Next year, next year..."

You're recycling the same comments from the beginning of this season about how loaded with talent the Oil are.

The coaching in Edmonton is simply terrible. Did you read Cory Cross' comments about coaching in Detroit vs coaching in Edmonton? You insist Edmonton has a system, the players from Edmonton disagree.

Our payroll is the same as the Flames, and we don't have to worry about signing Kipper anytime soon. As soon as Calgary has to face that bullet, bye-bye.

Oh, and the cap is going up. We could resign Rolly and Sammy with raises and be under this year's cap, most likely. The issue was the owners wanting to sign the cheques. Playoff money makes Sammy a no brainer. Rolly is looking good lately too, but we'll see how good after a series with Detroit.

I'm actually happy. I think a youngish team is going to learn more from playing detroit, win lose or draw, than from another date with Dallas.

5 mil for Kipper would be cheap. With Inginla getting 7 mil, can you say blown cap or 2 man team?

A good technical goalie who is doing well since he wore in and got used to playing every night.

But again, he wasn't the future. He was this year, and the playoffs. He did more than his part in getting us there. If he is reasonable and gets a contract, I'd be happy to have him back for another year while we bring a younger guy along.

Enjoy the time. He's a helluva goalie, and I agree he should be given very serious consideration for MVP. Without him the Flames are below Columbus and going lower.

I really don't think Roloson is a very good technical goalie. Half the time he seems to just fall over to the ice and roll around as the pucks hit him (hence the nickname).

Kipper is a positional and reactional goalie with an uncanny ability to read plays.

Roloson reminds me of Turek more than anyone else.

I doubt 47 in two years.

It'll depend a bit on sanity.

No way is Iginla worth 7 mil, and neither is Pronger. Nobody outside of Jagr, Thornton and maybe a few others were... this year.

The problem with those salaries under a cap is players with one or two good years get the contract and then tank. Kipper, with another great year will be hunting that sort of money and many years of contract. You want to sign him and then he goes into the hurt cycle?

I doubt the cap hits 47 million in the next 5 years. After adjustment, maybe its 43 or 44.
