  • Seattle -- just not ready for prime time. Too bad.

MVP -- I'd give it to the Pittsburgh nose tackle.

    • Yea, Casey Hampton is a beast. I'd totally approve if they gave it to a non-QB/RB/WR. Especially anyone as beastly as Hampton.

      • My guess for MVP is Parker. Awesome running and a huge psychological victory.

              • Ward was over a third of the total offense for Pittsburgh, and over three quarters of the passing offense. I think he's the most likely.

                • Oh, and I didn't even take the rushing yards into account.

                        • Yeah, the Seahawks got jobbed by the refs in a span of five minutes. (Bogus holding call that took away the Stevens catch at the 1, blatantly missed offside by the Steelers on the sack, ridiculously bogus penalty on Hasselbeck after the INT.) But Holmgren blew any chance they had of coming back with his game management, so I'm not too upset about it. (Why on earth did they not go for it at midfield with six minutes left? You're trying to win a game, goddamnit!)

And Alan Faneca should've been the MVP. He was the reason why Parker broke the game open and why they were able to control the momentum on the ground after the Ward gadget TD. At least they didn't give it to Roethlisberger (who played like crap).

Oh, please. The game sucked. Very sloppy play. There were very few "super" plays. Lots of dropped passes and passes caught out of bounds. Neither team could run the ball consistently. Lots of punts.

Seattle could move the ball but couldn't score. Two missed FGs meant they had no shot at the end.

                            The officiating was terrible.

Pittsburgh's entire offense consisted of 3 plays -- a 46 yd wounded duck to Ward, a 75 yd run by Parker, and the gadget play TD from Randle El to Ward.

Congrats to Pittsburgh. But the mediocrity of the game really points to the problem with parity in the NFL. I swear, the Bears could have beat either of those teams today.

I was worrying that they'd give it to Bettis for running out the clock.

And STFU, the game wasn't even close.
