Seattle seems to be the Stealth team here. Nobody is giving them much credit. But they have one of the best running backs in the league, and a solid defense. I'm just hoping for a good game.

STRONG rumors coming out of Detroit that Marinelli is really close to getting Mike Martz as the Lions O-Coord. Could be really interesting.

Now I've heard that Martz was offered and accepted the Lions O-Coord offer and now all that is left is the contract has to be worked out.

          edit: CBS confirms:

DETROIT -- Former Rams coach Mike Martz has been offered -- and has accepted -- the job as Detroit Lions offensive coordinator.

But it’s not quite a done deal. As of mid-day Wednesday, contract terms had yet to be worked out.

Martz interviewed with the Lions in Detroit on Tuesday. When he returned to St. Louis on Tuesday night, new Lions coach Rod Marinelli offered Martz the job.

Return of the Greatest show on Turf.

uh, well, IF they had a QB and RB they could count on...
and could keep their WRs healthy and off drugs...
and don't let Martz call the plays...

Still, they have some talent on defense. Good chance Detroit will be a "surprise" playoff team next year. Unless Millen drafts another WR in the 1st round.

Detroit was one of my two "surprise" picks for this year... they certainly surprised me. I thought that they'd win the NFC North.

If Martz can get Detroit humming, he should be Coach of the Year even though he's a coordinator.

And IIRC, with the Rams, Martz called most of the plays, Vermeil would change it once in a while or specify a game plan.

Curious. Pretty expensive coordinator. I wonder what else martz demanded to create an impasse...

Not particularly fond of either team, I'm going with the Steelers this year.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take the Monday off work so I could watch it.

Saunders got the same as Martz is asking, IIRC.

...and given that neither has scored in a Super Bowl.

when mike tice gets 1.1 mil, then Martz should get at least that, having coordinated a Superbowl win and head coached a loss, and IIRC 3 straight 500 point seasons. when has tice come close to that level of achievement? Also I believe Robinson and Saunders are in the 2 mil range in DC now, which is significantly more than what Martz asked, and again, don't have the recent resume comparable to Martz.

Just another case of Millen not having a clue.
