I couldn't believe that so many people were picking them prior to the NFCC game.. they were down to their third string RB and had only one receiving threat. Shut down Steve Smith and you shut down the Panthers. Those types of teams don't tend to do very well against balanced teams.

I was rooting for the Panthers, because I think the Seahawks will be the tougher matchup for the Steelers. This should be a great Super Bowl.

I agree... a great Super Bowl.

It's tough for me to be routing for the Seahawks here in the midwest, but I think the trials and tribulations that they have been through warrent them more for the win then for Pitt. Granted, The Bus deserves it as well, but the Seahawks are a few years of dedicated work to this whereas the Steelers and Big Ben just feel into this position.

What are you talking about? The core of this Steelers team (Bettis, Ward, Faneca, Porter, Haggans, Hartings, Kreider, von Oelhoffen, Aaron Smith, Marvel Smith, Townsend) has been together for the past 5 years. They've been to the playoffs 4 times since 2001, and to the AFC Championship game 3 times. How can you say that they just fell into this, or that the Seahawks put in more work than the Steelers?

          i just did

granted, I have seen things from the Steelers in just the past 3-4 games that I would never suspect from Cower.

as for player line ups, you could say that with any team
with a wild card team such as the Steeler, I can say that they "feel" into it with greater certainty.

          Good players? yes

Players you build whole teams around? Pro Bowl players? No

Seattle has given us the most productive offensive player ever.... and it was done by Holmgren and his years of discipline and hard work
          not
by Cower's sideline debates or charisma

yes, the steelers have good players
no, they do not have a team worthy of a ring

          will they get one?

who knows, the game is more heart than one would give credit

Pittsburgh will take this one. It comes down to the QB and the defense in the postseason, and although Hasselbeck is damn good, Roethlisberger is better. And although Seattle's defense is good, Pittsburgh's is better.

I expect Heath Miller to make some big plays, and Hines Ward will be reliable as usual.

The big matchup is the Seattle offensive line vs the Pittsburgh front. That's going to be an epic trench fight.

This is completely absurd. I still have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Most of the players in that list have been Pro Bowlers, and have been multiple times. I'm pretty sure that more Steelers have gone to the pro bowl over the past 5 years than any other team. They're obviously a group of players around whom you can build a team, as they've been the second most successful team in the AFC. This wild card team is basically the same team that went 15-1 last year. They lost two games this year when both their starting Qb and starting left tackle were out. I'm sorry, but your position is completely indefensible.

I am the biggest Rice fan evah.... Alexander has more TDs this year than rice ever had in a year, and being the rushing leader doesn't hurt either

                      but
What have they done this year? Besides going to the Super Bowl, Porter lead the league in sacks from the LB position and made the Pro Bowl, along with Faneca and Hartings (the best guard - center duo in the NFL). "Newcomer" Polamalu also made the Pro Bowl.

Ridiculous. You could say that about any NFL squad. For instance, you can claim that the Seahawks lucked out by having the easiest schedule in NFL history.

Ain't saying that... the easiest schedule? that is the most BS reasoning I have ever hear.

And... I won't say that the Seahawks got here by luck and heart

                            in fact

I am saying exactly the opposite

the got here by hard work and good ol' solid planning

                            what will win?

                            I am not saying
though I hope it's the hawks
