I am. There's something about Finns.

rather than staying to the topic.

Oh, dear heavens, why would we want to do that?

The link above serves no real purpose, except pulling a stupid stunt about seriousness or lack of it.

It serves a purpose, my dear Finn. It's proof positive that Finns suffer from a pathological seriousness. It's on the internet; it must be true.

What you seem to try to do, is to attempt trying to be witty,

I'm not trying to be witty.

while actually not being a tad bit interested about the issue,

Actually, I am a tad bit interested. Just not, shall we say, very interested.

but for the sake of being TEH WINNAH of the arguement.

There's nothing to debate, my dear Finn. I've already won.

This you pretty much put forward by saying you don't care about consoles.

Yeah, I've said that. More than once. I don't care about consoles all that much.

You anyway still made a pretty vague case for the Nintendo issue,

There's no Nintendo "issue", just my Nintendo "opinion". This imaginary persecution of Nintendo from me is kinda like the War on Christmas. A war, which I can now say, I've won, since time was on my side.

apart of Revolution might not be of your interest for several reasons, not to say consoles weren't your thing anyway. It's off-topic, but when you make a claim, you'd ought to back it up well.

I never made a claim, just a statement of opinion. But since it was said on the internet, and written by the divine word of Q, it must be the truth, and therefore is not only truthy, but also facty.

Admittedly, I'm not an apologist or a missionary. Just a prophet. Or something like that.

The GM example was bad, because they make from profit of it, just like Nintendo does.

Apple makes a profit from its hardware. Doesn't mean it should continue with it. Sony music makes a profit from its media. Doesn't mean it should continue.

If you think a company should focus more, then make a case and don't try some ****ty nationality references.

    Oh, you dear, wacky Finns.

    Smart...

    Why thanks!

Uh oh... Big news... If someone is being serious here, it's you.

I'm dead serious. I always have been.

Without the appropriate smiley, you apparently missed my little sarcasm.
Falling down the sarchasm is fun. Especially with a toboggan.

    ===

    I'll say again:

My personal feeling is that Apple should kick out of hardware, and Nintendo should kick out of hardware.

Hardware has always been a difficult area to make profits in, especially if the big appeal is elsewhere--games and software.

While it doesn't yet make sense for Apple, I do indeed think that that's the direction they should be moving in.

All they need now is a killer productivity app, and they may be able to shake the foundations of the corporate world.

    • Well this thread took four pages to degenerate into irrelevancy. Not as quick as the operating systems to bestiality thread, but not bad.

If you could sleep with any stuffed animal what would it be? I'd choose an iTiger.

            • Indeed. It's important to be on topic.

              But, I'd suggest an iBeaver

I was discussing this on a Mac forum, and had a wild brainstorm, involving a Mac Mini-turned iHome Media Hub, which would take the role of your standard Media Center PC (minus a fully functional operating system)/TiVo/Cable or Satellite Receiver to combine all your media for your living room, as well as AirPort Express-sized devices that you would plug in to your other TVs - say, in your kitchen, where you don't want to add another full-size home theater system - via the power cord, or into it's A/V ports or however (if possible); thus, through these small devices, and of course with the Apple iHome Media Remote (59.99MSRP), you could stream media content from your iHome's hard drive, your satellite, DVD, as well as photos and music you've selected to share from your Mac, wirelessly.

To us, it is the BEAST.

That's been rumoured for a while.

That's what Media Center PCs can do today (and for several years). Some are bigger than others.

The idea is there will be a Mac Mini upgrade with Intel Viiv and the remote support.

That's why Microsoft entered the entire Xbox market, you know. The living room computer, or the "home server" is a market just now starting to form. The Xbox is MS' step into that market, in addition to the Media Center PC route. That's why MS is fine swallowing billions of dollars in Xbox losses for the marketshare and presense in the living room.

IIRC, they started shipping the Mighty Mouse (with more than one button) standard, just last year.

Yes, not only have they supported 2+ button mice since FOREVAR(tm), but they've come out with their own 2+ button mouse.

But I doubt you were serious.
