I still don't see why the ban has anything to do with the fact that the priest happens to be Episcopalian. All the article mentions is yes, the priest is Episcopalian, but it never says that this is the reason why the conservatives are in arms.
Not at all. The God of the Catholics and Episcopalians is the same as the God of the Evangelical bible thumpers. The differences between liberals and conservatives can be found in any denomination.The Jesus of Episcopalian and Catholics really isn't the God of conservative Christians. Our God doesn't hate fags. He also might have helped start the big bang and created everything that way, but he didn't put dinos on the earth with people. He let evolution do it's thing mostly....just meddled a bit. Very different religions.
Catholics themselves recognise other Christians as separated brethren, although it is also true that this is a change from the Second Vatican Council. All we need to do is let any religious organization decide if a show shouldn't be on TV.
...or Cable TV.
...or Movies.
...or Radio.
...or Drama Theatres.
...or Concerts.
...or Stories in Books.
...and some other stuff.
Then we'll all live in a better society....
