Are you ready for some FOOTBALL - Final Regular Season Week
Well you couldn't have been surprised. They'd been hinting at it for like forever.

edit: So is Mike Sherman in Green Bay. Which is more interesting, because I believe Farve has said that if Sherman was gone, he'd be gone.
Lot of coaching openings.

holy crap. Who's going to fill all these positions?
There aren't that many good coaches available. I think some of the fired coaches will just move on to the other teams with openings.
Well, I bet you that Martz is moving to another head coaching gig next season. And I wouldn't be surprised if Mooch is as well.

I wonder if the Titans will take Leinhart/Young or DeAngelo Williams of Memphis. Williams looks like an LT type of player (small school, huge talent). Though I think they have more faith in Chris Brown than Steve McNair.
If they pass on Williams, the Jets could pick him up. Though they may go offensive line instead.
What about the Packers going for Williams? They're in need of a halfback. Ahman, Najeh, and Samkon (what an interesting trio of names) all got serious injuries, and the first two become free agents this offseason.
I doubt that the top four will go HB-QB-QB-HB. Usually there's at least one lineman or linebacker or defensive back in the top five.

Well I think that the Top 4 teams have major needs in the skill positions. They probably won't all draft those skill positions, but it is conceivable that they could. Maybe Tennessee decides that they'd rather go for a OL and go with McNair-Volek again.

Houston might very well trade the pick for a ton of players... either that, or trade Davis for a lot of players.
They need depth, not one single player.

I think they are going to have to trade Davis, though I'm not sure he'll get them much. Maybe a 2nd rounder, if they are lucky a 2nd and 6th rounder.

Unfortunately I missed most of the season due to work. My sunday working schedule was supposed to be temporary, but they can't hire anybody (damn low unemployment ). I may end up missing the superbowl.
let's see. Washinton at Tampa Bay. this is a tough one predict. Ordinarily I'd go with Tampa Bay. But Washington is red hot right now. I'm going with the Redskins for the upset.
Jacksonville at NE. Not a bad year for the Jags. But the Pats are too tough (esp at home). Pats win
Carolina at NY Giants. Never been a big giants fan. They don't impress me much except for Tiki Barber. I'm going with the Panthers on this one.
Pittsburgh at Cincinatti. Could go either way. But I'll go with the Bengals at home.
What Tennessee has is a good QB way past his prime, and a reliable backup. I think it's very reasonable to go for a top quarterback.
Volek had a few good games last year, but there's no reason to think he'll lead the Titans any better than an aging McNair. I don't think he's the future there.
I think it's conceivable that they'll have all three QBs for a year or so.

I'm so upset that the rams fired Martz. I forsee a complete slide back to mid-90's mediocrity for them now
Uh, dude, they've been sliding for the past couple years. They have some talent, but Martz is a buffoon when it comes to calling plays and their defense flat-out sucks. Yeah, they lost Bulger this year and had some other injuries. But this is a team in disarray that needs to right the ship while they still have some of that talent under contract.
The Rams have announced plans to interview two defensive coordinators -- Ron Rivera of the Bears and Gregg Williams of the Redskins.

They are going to have to fight off suitors for Gregg Williams. He seems to be the guy who's going to have his pick of a job.
