There are cars in Finland? I thought they were all skiing?!

Yes imagine that.. of course the cars average over 10 years old these days.. no one can afford new cars. Except the parents of Green Party members.

Now, if you want to save the environment, it would make a lot of sense to lower the tax on new cars, because they are way more safe to environment than the early 90s japanese fresh air killers.

But what can you do, they're idiots, and they will die when the day comes.. I hope it comes soon.. ohh it will be a day of celebration.. decapitations, my personal day of joy!

If I have the time to save you that is. But I try.

Reindeer sleds for the win! Cheap, and save environment.

Do you have any idea how much reindeer food costs theses days?? Every time Bush says something the moss prizes go through the roof, no blood for moss.

And people who say, well ride a bike, uh, that's not the solution to the real problem, which is the incompetence of our leaders, major parties and this nation.

But it could be a short term solution to a private financial situation, more so than planning the revolution on apolyton. Maybe you should go into politics yourself and try to change things, or maybe you can become one of those paper pushers and earn enough to have two cars.

The real problem is, that there aren't any true and real men anymore. Look at the youth today. Discuss, instead of clearing differences how our fathers taught us, with a baseball bat. And go to the sauna in boxers, too! Bah, negative!

"Pekka" I assume you live in the same town as I do. The public transportation in this lovely little West Coast town is nothing but a joke-I admit that. However it is the right wing politicians who have over the decades got rid of the fully functional tram system as well as the local bus company. According to them those semi communist institutions were neddless as in the brave new world most people would want to use their own cars. Well not everyone had a rich daddy like them. Anyway. By privatising the bus lines and thus creating about dozen small buss companies the quality of the service has plummeted when at the same time the prices have gone up. Most of the busses themselves are old, used crap near end of their life cycle, but bought at bargain prices from Danish, Norse or Swedish communal bus companies. By making sure that each line is subject to an annual competition and revision of the contracts of who of the small companies gets to drive them the local council makes sure that the crappy service continues to drive people to use their own cars instead of the mass transportation.

However this kind of insanity is not new in this town. Long time ago, somewhere in the 60ties the right wing politicians infiltrated the city council and hijacket the politics. Since then most of the medieval, imperial, art nouveau and other historical buildings in this what once was the first town in Finland have been replaced with asbestos filled efficient and "funtional" architecture. You know, the same stuff the East Berlin is made of. This, in Finnish standards unique mixture of right wing driven privatisation, corruption, short sigtness and plain insanity was later diagnosed as the "Turku Disease" Its true. If you look at a Finnish dictionary its there.

If "Pekka" or whatever his real name is wants to see some change in this he should vote either any Left Wing alliance candidate to the local council or wait until I run there myself someday. Its crucial to remove the right wing scum that has been plaguing this town for decades with fresh minded people from the Capital or who are equivivalently enlightened. The election is in just few years away. In the mean time, my advise to you is to suck it up or abandon your fuel inefficient vehicle and start biking

I've been seeing regular unleaded going for between $2.85 to $3.20 per gallon.
