TULSA? You've got to be kidding me. They were a joke when they were in the WAC. Just like SMU was. They were the bottom two teams in our conference before they bailed for "greener" pastures.

I can't wait for UH vs. Fresno State. I hate Fresno.

      Oh and.....

      MSU-35
      UH -0

...3rd quarter. I guess they're salty that we beat 'em last year.

If you haven't heard, Oklahoma sucks this year .

Though it seems they are going to the power running offense. It looked ok when they handed off to Adrian Peterson every play .

Reality check for Wolverine fans: You were overrated as a #3. This loss will put you in a more appropriate place.

How soon do you think we'll get the "Return to Glory" headlines on the SI cover again for the Irish? (With the caveat that this time, it's probably going to stick - I don't see a national title in the cards, but I do see either a lower-tier BCS bowl or an upper-tier non-BCS bowl in ND's future.)

Are you kidding? He's already drawing comparisons to Knute Rockne.

It happens every 2 or 3 years. The schedule is murderous this year, however. If they beat USC and Tennesee, then we'll see the SI cover.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. • Iowa State is kicking the crap out of #8 Iowa... a huge upset in the making!

Yes. That's why I think ND fans are realistic about this. I'm just happy to see ND play with intensity. The lack of intensity was shameful for a program with the football tradition of Notre Dame.

Well, in all fairness, he did accomplish something no Irish coach since Knute's done, however small in the big scheme of things it might be.

I don't think they'll beat USC. I think only Texas or Ohio State has the talent to do that. Tennessee, on the other hand, is another story - they were another team very much overrated at the start of the season (as the escape from UAB showed last week), and I fully expect them to come into South Bend with at least two losses (to Florida next week and Georgia) if not more.

Didn't Ty have a really good 1st year as well?
Yeah, but they really choked at the end of the year after a really good start, so in the end it didn't feel that way.

I don't know if TN will lose those two games, and I don't know if the Irish will win against TN, but I agree with the tenor of your post.

However, I do expect Notre Dame to put up a fight against USC. Ty's teams didn't even put up any fight against them. That's what got Ty fired. No fight against USC, Notre Dame's historic rival.
