I wouldn't have any problem living in a mideast confederation - if our neighbours wouldn't have been ultrapatriarchal machoist wifebeaters who are also extreme religious fanatics. They're just such a perfect mix - not only their society is thoroughly fudged, they also deeply resent any attempts to change it, calling them attacks on their religion ( and maybe they would be right - but one shouldn't care about it ).

I think this about sums up my attitude on the middle east peace process. What's your excuse, Mr. Legion?
