But this time it's not just the Greeks. Nobody wants Turkey in. Except of course the U.S. and others, who would have the luxury of enjoying the show from a distance.
MarkG is just pointing out the obvious fact that Turkey's diplomatic stance is so preposterous, that they do not have a chance in hell to join the EU if they don't change their tune.

On the contrary, recognising the Greek part of Cyprus was never officially demanded by the EU from Turkey for the membership negotiations to start.
Well, it's a club, if you don't meet the requirements, it's ta-ta.
The club in question created a situation in which it rewards one side to a conflict for refusing what everybody else accepted as a fair and balanced deal, and punishes the other, isolated, side for agreeing to reunification.
