You mean the people insulting me like you've just done with this continued vendetta of slander about my supposed glee in US casualties?

I suppose I must also cheer for joy whenever a British soldier is killed or maimed as well? Fact is that we're in the same boat because of both our corrupt governments and I'm pissed that I've been dragged into something I wanted no part of in the 1st place - so don't try and pin your failures onto me.
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

        For Iraq read Iran.

Just like Vietnam ultimately stepped in to squash the chaos of Cambodia when the US left...

Imagine that. Iran in control of Iraq...

That's rich coming from you. You never, ever post anything of substance... ever.... I can't recall you ever coming up with anything resembling an argument.

Now you're just being mean tempting me. Though I do notice that you really haven't answered Drake's question or even backed up the statement.

                        edit: Mea culpa

While I think this is true, I'm not sure it's simply anti-US sentiment. Much of it is the immense pleasure -- reinforced in us by millenia of Western drama -- of seeing hubris punished. I suspect that world reaction to the current situation would be different if the Bushies hadn't been such arrogant bastards ("We're an empire now!" "Mission Accomplished!") during the run-up. This is comeuppance, and comeuppance does tend to provoke applause.

Because of the idiotic actions of the people in my sig(as a very large part of the reason it happened), decent Amercians(of which there are many from my experience) will now have to live with the very real damage to thier international reputation. And it wont become fixed anytime soon i expect - the damage is too great. Hopefully the majority can learn from this mistake.

As for britain, i think most outside observers can see we were dragged mostly unwilling into this mess - our gloriuos PM being won over(bribed?) to the neo-con cause i suspect, still he's lost alot of friends due to this action alone(i helped vote him in previously to Iraq). And there is no way in hell we'll follow america into another such situation anytime soon i suspect.

Poor America - they really messed up
On the (rather convoluted) plus side at least when the US finally 'learns from this mistake' it will at least appear that it is learning from this mistake rather than learning from the 9/11 attacks which not so long ago so many people were hoping it would gain great insight from. The huge blunders in Iraq now allow us a convenient excuse for coming to our senses without appearing to do so in response to a horrific terrorist act!

If removed from the influence of Saddam Hussein they would likely write a more liberal constitution, at least with respect to the rights of women and the relationship of religion to the state, than will the Shiites. The Shiites are likely to write a constitution that will make us wince when we read it. Both would likely stab the other in the back.
Indeed... which strongly points to civil war, which we would not like to be our legacy in Iraq.
