Zopp beat me to it. I was just going to face the same things.

It seems unlikely it was heat stroke. Yeah experts say it can happen in cool weather (it was in the mid 60's during the game), but I doubt it.

He may have been taking some weird performance enhancing drugs, and maybe had a pre-existing heart condition. Who knows.

Must be hard, being a 49er.

I think te 49ers would say these downtimes are a decent tradeoff for 5 SuperBowl championships and ~20 years of 10 or more wins.

There is a reason why John Madden still has a job.

No. When your team sucks in the present, no amount of Superbowls in ancient history will make up for it, especially when your team sucks as bad as the 49ers. Now if they start winning that's a different story. Then those Superbowls begin to matter again.

This QB Mike McMahon has mad skills. If McNabb ever went down, I would feel confident with this guy in there. He will easily win 2nd string job. I cant believe Detroit let him walk..

Well, they have Jeff Garcia now, who's pretty adequate as a backup as well. It was smart pick-up by the Eagles nonetheless, even though there are worse backups around than Koy Detmer.

McMahon sucks. I was around during his college career (at Rutgers.. can you guess if he had a winning record ). He's an incredibly overrated backup. Think Scott Mitchell with less skils.

                          Pittsburgh

                          Has a very balanced offense

                          2TD by special teams
                          2TD by defense
                          2TD by running
                          1TD by passing

there has to be some reason.

I got tired of him calling Troy Aikman the best football player in 1995. I've hated him ever since. And he's waay to preoccupied with size.

Actually back during the time you hated him, Madden was at his best. When he wasn't senile, he was by far the best color commentator in the game, picking out things that most people wouldn't see. Now, he just yells BOOM and points out the obvious.
