  • I guess it would be too much to ask if the guys and gals just got the **** together and came out to say hey i like ya do you wanna get to know each other

Well that's what i get for being drunbk....answering the wrong question. What i refer to as "rules" are simply probabilities. Follow them and your success rate (i.e. relationship opportunities) with the opposite sex will improve. Fact. Plenty of guys out there are unhappily "doing what comes naturally", and I'm simply saying, there's a better way.

From what I understand of that Civ game of yours, it's all about launching one's own spaceship before the others do. So this is no big news after all: my father just beat you all to the stars once more. - Philippe Baise

Not on this planet! Attraction is a funny thing. There are people out there we KNOW, logically, should be a perfect match. But they just don't set off any sparks. And without those sparks, youre just going through the motions.

        • my mate got me thinking about eye contact, he says that if they look down when you first make eye contact, youre in luck. If they look away then not so lucky. Of course some girls keep your eye contact

Your mate is dead on. On one level this stuff is really pretty basic - just knowing what signals to look for. what's trickier is being aware that you see them through a fog of your own emotions and hopes (and learning how to filter those out).

                • Anyone else hates that anti-climax when you get to some place (like a train station) with serious people being all sober, when you just came out of some club with a couple of friends all being drunk/drugged up...

You are in a good mood, laughing, one of your friends is singing something ... than you enter the train-station at 7am in the morning, and its full of those... well not only sober, but really sober ppl. ... the whole place feels like everybodys mom just died and we are all supposed to be depressed or something... old ladys giving you their snoberish you-will-land-in-hell look...

In that moment you ask yourself whats wrong with those freaks and wish you would have gone some place else...
If its no fun why do it? Dance like noone is watching...

                  • Actually I find the modern level of hedonism to be rather disturbing. Drunk is somewhat more socially acceptable (although shouldn't be IMO) yet you also mentioned drugged up? So what you're saying is that it is an environment that you cannot enjoy without the aid of various substances? That's quite sad...

Dance clubs are just MUCH better if yu are on drugs, it's just a fact, they are geared to be that way.

                      • Not my cup of tea, not by a long way! Now I don't mind an indie or alternative club now and again, used to do that quite a bit in Manchester and Hull in the past.

                        • Hm sorry I dont understand "hedonism" and bablefish doesnt find it

And what I said was more on the lines of: "It sucks when you are in a good mood (bzw. especially good mood after dancing all night for example) to go to some place like a train-station where everyone (ordinary people) is a mood-killer." regardless if you helped your mood with substances or not...

+ actually I think alc is not the most harmless drug, just the most accepted one... using illegal drugs can be less harmfull... depending of what you do exactly of course..

Thats actually another disturbing thing for me: Drunks that look down at drug-users. "Oh yes Im just drunk, but HE is using drugs" *shakes-head about ppl. that think the law is some holy grail and based on scientific data*

Drug users even look down at other drug users. Pot smokers on E users, E users on Cokeheads, Cokeheads on Smackheads......

                            • Why do drunk thread always get really going after I go to bed?

Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?
