What do you mean by "destroyed my tolerance"? Did alcohol affect you more than normally?
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

But just because he's an actor doesn't mean he doesn't know what he's talking about. I mean, Imran is a lawyer but when he talks about movies... hell.

        I just pwned myself, didn't I?

Hm. Antidepressants seem to've had zilch effect on how I react to alcohol.

Nonetheless, I've been more restrictive with booze since I got on them, since the combo allegedly isn't good for you.

seems quite a few of us have had therapy or been on medication.. and most of us say it was a good thing.
and i lost what little respect i had for TC after that interview. which i saw btw and he came off as a fanatical moron. he's maybe a fine actor.. but he needs to go back to being more reserved. which he was a few years ago.

Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt. -- Mark Twain.

i was on paxil around the time my husband died.
after that they increased it for a while..
that next summer i gradually tapered off it.
and have not been on medication in a year.
after 2 years of therapy .. im now just going twice a month instead of every week.
diagnosed with major depression and PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)
she gave me the major depression because she wasn't sure in the beginning if it was long term or just event related due to the PTSD. she dealt with the PTSD
with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing treatments). which has been very effective.

if you have a therapist that just sits there and listens
or falls asleep.. then find another one. thats not good therapy.

I actually was boycotting Cruise and Travolta until Cruise hooked up with Spielberg. I figured that if Spielberg could stand him he must not be so bad. Looks like I was premature. I think I'll still go see War of the Worlds anyway.

Second, "most bankable?" I doubt that. He hasn't had a really big hit in a while, so I think he's seen his star fading and is clawing at trying to get it back. And I'd say Hanks is much more consistently bankable star.

I disagree. Cruise is held in the same esteem in Hollywood the same way Michael Jordan is on the basketball court.

Whether his movies translate into the actual dollar amounts being more than other stars, I don't know. But that's the perception of him.

I dunno about that. The guys I mentioned earlier all have better "scoring" records.

There's a website somewhere that lists the earnings of films in which actors and actresses have had a major role in.

OK, Tom Cruise is 4th, behind Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford and Eddie Murphy.

                        Doc,

I already said that I didn't know and/or think if he got movies to earn more money than those other actors you mentioned.

But the PERCEPTION of him is that he is the top dog.

That may be your perception, but I don't know anyone who shares it with you. I've always viewed Hanks, Nicholson and Ford as they mighty top 3 of Hollywood actors. After all, when was the last time Cruise won an Oscar?

Ask anyone in Hollywood and they'll pick him.

I didn't used to live there or anything though.

Of all the other actors mentioned so far, they're all too old, and don't really appeal to the ladies the way Tom does.
