They don't believe in revolution, but rather the evolution of socialism within the democratic and parliamentary system.
Conservatism (in its current, over exaggerated, xenophobic reactionary form) was considered a JOKE back in the 40s, and 50s. But these guys spent the next 40 years slowly building up their infrastructure. Now they own the damn place. People turn to Rush Limbaugh for guidance, and can count on squashing the opposition by simply charging people with being unpatriotic.
