Besides the Ewoks, nobody ever comes up with a legitimate complaint about Return of the Jedi.

Seeing as how the Ewoks compose a pretty good portion of the movie, I'd say that's a pretty big complaint. They are in RotJ faaaar more than Jar Jar in TPM.

It's like saying the only complaint against ESB was Cloud City (if someone complained about).

My complaint against ESB is the lack of grandiose-ness compared to most other SW movies. Other than the lightsaber duel (which other than the "I am your father" bit, is not as good as the one in RotJ), there is no definitive, heart-stopping megabattle to decide the fate of the galaxy.

Given that grandioseness is a hallmark of the SW franchise, I'd say it's a quite valid reason of putting RotJ ahead of ESB in my book.

ESB doesn't have a single scene that approaches the awesomeness of the Battle of Endor. The closest you come to a Space Battle is Han hiding in silly gigantic asteroid monsters' stomachs.

The first lightsaber duel between father and son is downright goofy in some ways. Like when Luke plunges to his death and then there's an oh-so-convenient slide that he tumbles down.

Sure, ESB is good. But it should not be the sacred cow of the series.

Whether you think Natalie Portman is hotter than Carrie Fisher is an entirely subjective and personal decision.

What you CAN'T argue is that Leia's golden bikini was a friggin pop culture phenomenon. There are entire web sites dedicated to the outfit 20 years after the movie came out. I truly doubt that 20 years ago any form of Padmé's wardrobe will be remembered that way.

Then if we are to compare the respective characters, Princess Leia is a much more complete, interesting and kick-ass character than Padmé. And much much better acted also.
