I think we are really ingoring the white elephant in the room here guys.
2X4's are responsible for at least 2 out of 4 non worksite post factory timber related month. How long are we going to sit around and argue moot points until we come to the real conclusion thta we're all afraind of having to reach.
2X4's are a real threat, and pose a real threat to society as a whole. What we need to do is place a ban on wood that is so wide that it is easily grippable, and a ban on wood in legths that are both fallic and easily swung.

Kalonike: Only we women? Poor Greece!
I dont think this kid went in search for a piece of wood to beat is baby sister. Unfortunatly it was what he found. I do believe had this kid fouind his plastic bat he would have used that too. Doesnt make him a hardcore killern just an aggrevated 7 yo that wanted his sister to stop hoggin his attention

I was thinking that psychopathy is rather easy to diagnose, and with him being that young, it should be rather easier ( empathy develops at a younger stage, but he I don't think he's sophisticated enough just yet to hide this, though I could be wrong).
If he's a psychopath, then it's time to bring in the good ol' ball and chain, and make him build a new railroad to Canada. Or something.
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

So glad I didn't turn into a psychopath.

I disagree. Empathy often doesn't develop until later in childhood. In fact the legal systems in many countries consider a seven year old to still be an "infant".
Babies often demonstrate a primitive sort of empathy. Their emotional state reflects that of their environment, i.e., when one baby in the nursery cries, they all join in. This state generally resolves sometime around the age at which they begin to walk and say a few words, at which time they develop an ego-centric view of the world. Go ahead, see how difficult it is to convince two year old Johnny that he should lie down for awhile because Mommy needs a nap. If you're really good at parenting and the kid's receptive you might be able to teach him at pre-school age to demonstrate manners and even to mimic compassion, but the development of the ability to see things from another person's perspective on his own doesn't really develop until about age 10 to 12.

This scernario is possible, however if you have kids you would know kids develop the skills to fight. I have 3 youngest being 8 and oldest being 14. The eight yo will protect himself if being aggrevaited by the older ones. Including kicking and swinging. He has even thrown things at the other 2 not processing the fact that he could hurt the older ones or break something. More likely then not this kid doesnt know what he has done. other then fight with his sister.
