The one I like best is where Paul talks about our works being tested in fire, and that the one who's works do not survive the test being saved, but only as one escaping through the fires. So what's the scriptural support for Purgatory, again?
Purgatory being those same fires.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

I think that's a big stretch. Seems obvious to me that Paul is referring to our mortal lives, and the "tested in fire" are the ordeals we all go through while living. I don't see any indication this is a reference to some afterlife cleansing.Originally posted by Ben Kenobi

Looks to my like Purgatory is a contradiction of the notion that Jesus's sacrifice cleanses sin. Several passages in the NT state that all sins will be forgiven thanks to his sacrifice. If purgatory is true, then his sacrifice wasn't enough...Tutto nel mondo è burla

Odin can do the heretic limbo! Everybody now LIMBO!“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

The Dante's Inferno Test has sent you to the First Level of Hell - Limbo!
Charon ushers you across the river Acheron, and you find yourself upon the brink of grief's abysmal valley. You are in Limbo, a place of sorrow without torment. You encounter a seven-walled castle, and within those walls you find rolling fresh meadows illuminated by the light of reason, whereabout many shades dwell. These are the virtuous pagans, the great philosophers and authors, unbaptised children, and others unfit to enter the kingdom of heaven. You share company with Caesar, Homer, Virgil, Socrates, and Aristotle. There is no punishment here, and the atmosphere is peaceful, yet sad.
