It matters to me, for both FPS and RTS. Therefore I am offering it as my reason I envisage playing PC games (maybe alongside console games, I don't know) for the forseeable future. You don't have my priorities? Fine, I don't really care.Originally posted by Asher

But don't make sweeping statements - there are things (many points have been made by lots of posters) that the PC does better, and saying that doesn't mean we're saying consoles are crap or anything.

i see no reason to buy a console. Nothing available for the console that im at all interested in (other than MAYBE Kotor, ported to PC). Plenty of PC games im interested in. Need a new PC anyway, gaming aside. Would need an additional TV to accomodate a console without creating conflicts. Xbox will cost about $400. Cheapo PC, WITH monitor, little more than that (sorry spikey) Extra TV will cost a couple of hundred.

I didn't get an XBox, don't even have a PS2 or any other current-gen console. I'll wait for the new junk to come along and buy the "obsolete" PS2 when prices drop like rocks, if I buy anything at all. If they ape MS and stop making PS2s, oh well. I don't play that much anyway. Halo's the main thing the XBox has going for it, and I'm terrible at shooters.
I'll reiterate my accustomed point WRT console vs. PC: it's rather fun to be able to sit back in a cushy chair, as opposed to hunching up next to the monitor, to have the guy you're playing against talking trash right next to you instead of typing it with obnoxious 1337-gibberish, to have a nice big screen, to have minimal problems with slowdown, and to not be at the mercy of the frigging server. But I guess that last one's more a criticism of MMORPGs. Anyway, PC might have its charm but the free and easy nature of a console can hold its own too.Comment

RTS for world conquest games is just silly. You think George Bush has to make split second decisions with regards to the war in iraq? He had months (and years as it was recently reveiled the war was planned prior 9/11) to plan that war (he still ****ed it up, but that's another thread)Comment
