I have a nice comfortable office chair. And I sit back when playing games.

Sorry Asher, but sports games are so boring.

I take consolation that you play them on the superior platform, however.

      • and get this, I have a dual action controller for my PC. . And it's long enough I could sit in a recliner if I so choosed to do so.

        • So now you have a PC that poorly tries to emulate a console. Shame on you.

I will refrain from commenting on the "choosed" part of your post.

              • Come on, the console is just a dumbed down PC that is purely built to play games.

The PC can do what the console can, but the console cannot do what the PC can.

Yes, I bought an XBOX (to see Halo2, what the hype was etc) and I bought a PS2 (GTA SA). Halo 2 had a good story at the start and all, but I was confused as to why the graphics were not as good as even mediocre FPS games on the PC. (For example, rocks on the ground were made up of like 6 polygons). The ocean water and the open space impressed me, but then again I was more impressed with HL2's water effects.

After about a 1.5 months, I got sick of GTA SA because I STILL felt that the controls were limiting my abilities to play the game. I knew that if I had a mouse and keyboard and a higher resolution monitor my progress in the game would be doubled and it would be more fun.

                Same goes for Halo 2.

So I went down to hire another console game out, I looked through all the Xbox games and all the PS2 games... and I could not find one game that looked appealing, 90% of the games seem to be made for children or have corny characters you might see from Dragon Ball Z who seem to have this neverending strength that gets more powerful each episode. It's. Just. Plain. Stupid.

So I sold my PS2, XBox and games. I was very very happy with my PC. I had instant access to the internet, even while playing games, I could mod my games to my liking (not that I do, but if I ever wanted to, I know that I can). I have a high resolution monitor that people can't nag me to watch TV on. I have my trusty keyboard and mouse which can play ALL games, whereas I found that controllers don't suit all games, most, but not all.

I would love to see the most experienced FPS PC player vs the most experienced FPS Console player just to prove that the Keyboard and Mouse is unbeatable.

                • Consoles are like Hollywood movies. Main target audience is idiots (or anyone and everyone if you like that better) and the purpose is to make money but it doesn't hurt the company if some of the games are actually good. Consoles are for people who game sometimes and don't care about playing, it's better to let the marketing people decide what's good, don't like it, get another one.
Can the second xbox play wow? No? Worthless.

Question: Are games about fun to you, or are games about virtual dicksize?

Evidently it's the latter, which is unfortunate.

Reading your post, it seems clear to me that someone like you will only be satisfied with PC games. Which is your loss, IMO.

Consoles are designed for people who:
                        1) Like to enjoy a game online without 1337-h4x0rs using wall-hacks
                        2) Like to enjoy a game without the bull**** of "installing...", crashes, weird graphical fixes that can be fixed by "updating your driver"
                        3) Like to play their games on the bigscreen with surroundsound with 3 friends next to them
                        4) Like to sit back and not sit infront of a computer screen
                        5) Use computers for 99% of their time awake already and like a change
                        6) Like variety in their gameplay

                        • Of course, this had to become another pointless console versus PC thread... This is what I call groundhog day thread: it repeats over and over and over again, with the exact same arguments pro and con.

In other news, Splinter Cell: Chaos theory is finally out and it looks like a lot o' fun!

                          • actually I have nothing against Xbox. If that's what you want to spend your money on, then go ahead. I just find it's not an efficient use of money.

I find myself becoming bored of computer games. I'm not sure why. Games used to keep me entertained for long periods of time. But lately games only hold my interest for a couple of days. I cancelled my World of Warcraft account today (though it's still active for a couple more weeks). I've lost all joy in gaming.

Lemme get this straight. Microsoft was actually LOSING money with each X-Box created? If so, why did they create the machine in the first place? How do they create profits? (insert question here)?
