I don't get your comments about FPS games on consoles though. Halo 2 MP is far more popular than the current PC FPS multiplayer games combined, and people even pay monthly/yearly to play it online.

I think the people have spoken, and most don't agree that FPS is best on PC.
Of course the People sez the best franchise on the PC is the Sims, by far. G-d bless the people. "Ma, we IZ the people"

Sadly, The Sims is one of the better and most original games I've seen on the PC in a long, long time.

Name a good game indepedently published last year.

I've tried both (and I have a different perspective as I used to play FPS seriously) and console FPS just aren't as good for a competitive circuit. I'm sure a circuit will appear, but alongside a PC FPS circuit.

And as I said, RTS and MMORPG are very popular, with no competition yet from consoles.

TBS? Grow up and play Go like the rest of people.

TBS computer games are like training wheels. It's time to play real strategy games.

I was stating my personal reasons for it: I invested money into a home entertainment center, as opposed to buying a sound system/larger monitor etc for my PC.

I used to play PC games all the time - now, I've switched to Xbox. The only thing I miss is how superb Ghost Recon was for the PC.

And for you Xbox users out there: Wouldn't it be great if Xbox Live allowed, say, the host, to play music from his XBox HD during a pregame lobby? Emphasize and improve the social aspect of the system.

Why on earth do you think RTS is 'very popular' today? Haven't you seen Rise of Nation's sales figures...

And FFXI is popular on PS2. The reason it's not "popular" in consoles is because of the communication problem (lack of keyboard), which has pretty much been resolved with the voice communication. Except it to explode with Xbox2/PS3.

im a bargain bin diver, i havent bought any recent games ( a result of getting into electronic games late in life).

I just bought the Paradox 6 pack - I suppose theyre big enough for Xbox, but they werent a few years ago, I think. I got EU2, HOI, Vickie (and 3 others) # outstanding games. Nothing like ANY of them on the xbox.

I've been talking about the MP circuit, as I've made clear several times. Don't be awkward.

I don't like any of those games, so yay for me.

The reason they're independently published is because publishers knew they'd sell like crap.

Why the hell does this matter, how popular is the MP circuit to begin with?

I just don't understand your point.

"Halo parties" (Xbox LAN parties) are far, far more popular here at work (Toronto) and home (Calgary) than PC LAN parties ever have been.

The People also have 2 new platforms - online puzzle and word games, paid by advertising. This is a large and growing market, and the "casualness" of it makes the Sims look like EU2, from what i understand. And there are cell phone games, perhaps the fastest growing market. PC vs Console debates are like, SO 2003.

                              G-d bless the People.
