I'm still hitting myself in the head for not taking a picture of it. All I have is a shot of its dome, as seen from the wharf, with Lancer and Theben in the foreground.

No, of course not. Read what I wrote again. A religion that denies Christ would be the Moslems or Buddist or something like that...I guess. Though I don't know much about these religions in truth.

Zkrib, I took a video inside the church if you want it. I can copy it and send it w/ the other one. I close up focused on all the paintings and even got some of a service in progress. Interested?

Nah. I rarely look at videos. I do look at still pix, so I'll have to come back and take some more.

We go to Church and then we don't go, but then we go again, and then don't go for a while. Right now we are not going. But the Faith will alway be part of me. I will be catholic until the day I died.

Just tell him on the sly that you're really doing undercover work for the Baptists. That usually works. Or, tell him you became a Catholic because the people in your old church were too contentious. He can't argue with that without proving your point.

Boy I hope not. That would make the thrashing I got at age 8 from a bunch of Baptist skinheads becuase I wouldn't agree that Catholicism was an anti-Christian cult totally meaningless.

I would understand if you perhaps believed in the tenets of Catholicism, but to place trust in the Vatican as an institution seems to me completely naive. Especially considering the relative laxity with which church members have treated sex offenders among their ranks. If this isn't what you're doing, then I hope you find whatever it is you seek in your beliefs. If it is, I hope you know what you're in for (not in the Apocalyptic 'burn in hell' sense).
You have to take the world as a whole. The world has seen a few good leader and tons of bad.

When a man gets up in the morning, he is a man. Then he/she puts on clothes that make him/her into their jobs. Yes We have had Pope that none of us would invite for dinner. But all catholic make up the church and not just the pope.

My answer to the sex part. You have to look at Jesus life. If Jesus was walking here today, what would he said to one of them. I would bet he would tell them to repent and do not let it happen again and ask for forgiveness and then go on with life.
You want to take man vengeance.

The cultish, superstitious side of catholicism is rather fun.

That is because they are really catholic. King Henry did not change the church, he said from now on I will be the leader of the chuch in England, and then he killed his wife.

Luther asked his follower not to leave the church, stay and change it from inside, but after he died, they said that they would no longer follow the Pope in Rome.

Popes are just people, some good, some bad. The Catholic church says he's a stand in for Jesus and that irks, but does it do any harm to the individual seeking salvation?

The South. 1961. They were only acting in accordance with what they had been taught at home and in church. When I put my personal knowledge, having lived for 5 years in largely Catholic New York, up against what they had been taught by their parents and preachers they reacted as if I were disrespecting their elders and proceeded to try to teach me a lesson.

The principle judged that I was equally responsible for the fight even though I had tried to escape and hadn't gotten so much as one lick in since I had been "argumentative". I was told to apologize to the other boy, but I responded by asking if I had to agree that Catholics were a cult. I didn't get an answer, he simply told me to go back to class.

Of course in 1961 most of my classmates sported "Deliverance" hair cuts.
Last week Liberty Baptist University held a "mock trial" for Abraham Lincoln. Care to guess the verdict?
