Yeah, it's called the Roman Catholic church. I thought that the church was supposed to follow its teachings rather than oppose them.

Actually, the former is not true. We wouldn't have sex unless we both were in the mood. As for the second, yes that is true, and I have said that in the past.

What is sad is that I appear to be the only one here willing to answer these questions. If you believe that I have made a mistake in what I have said to Straybow, please speak up!

I am not an expert, but I am willing to stand up for what the Catholic church teaches to the best of my ability. Those who have been in the church for a much longer time, should feel free to improve upon my arguments as they see fit.

some do some dont. I think it all depends on whether the two people practice the relegion. I for one know that me and tubes are different relegions and neither of us converterted to the others relegion. However i do believe that a person can convert just for faith and relegious fullfilment.

AH can only know by example, and I'd bet the typical Catholic in Oz is just as loose with RC doctrine as the liberal wing of the RCC on this continent.

This is why I laugh when RC apologists point to the numerical size of the denomination as an indicator of truth. On any given issue you are likely to find agreement with the same percentage of people inside the denomination as outside it. That, and the fact that the majority are descendents of those forced to convert by colonizing powers, and who now live in religiously oppressed cultures...

I'm not citing size. Give me a bit of time this afternoon, and I will finish my reply to the earlier points you made.

What sets aside the Catholic church from all the other denominations, is that all the other denominations can be traced back to the Catholic church at some point in time. The converse is not true.

Secondly, the group that follows the teachings of the church are not a 'consevative sect of Catholicism', rather they are just a part of the overall Catholic church. That is the point I was trying to get across earlier, that I obviously did not do well enough.
