Does praying for a sports team count?
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

IIRC, isn't Park Avenue the only ManU fan on this site?

        Seems to fit .

I think End is Forever is as well, but as he's also a Young Tory it's probably understandable

Well one can hope he actually backs Man City .

I would have prayed for Newcastle to have a decent Central Defender... if I thought that actually would make a difference with Sourness there.

              Well, they won today.

No thanks to prayers, just dumb luck as usual. Bowyer sent off... again.

At least he had the decency to score before he was red carded.

I thank God every day I get home that I didn't get exploded.

I remember some comedian making fun of sports stars and God.

Y'know how they always say after a win, "I want to thank the Lord, and we prayed really hard for this".

Why don't they complain when they lose?

"Damn God. Ungrateful git! I prayed for two weeks solid and swore off adultery for a month and that bastard couldn't come up with a lousy field goal!! etc.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

                            * Puts Alva on the "To be Tortured Horribly" List.

You know, the world would be a much happier and more peaceful place if every act of prayer was substituted for an act of masturbation.

Don't contradict me; you know it's true.

Think of how mellow Jerry Falwell would be.
