Well I'm very glad for not following John T's advice. I met some pretty cool people on the bus that I would not have met otherwise had I driven by myself.

That and seeing the country makes me understand why the Americans like their country as much as they do. You've got some great people here, and great places.

Ben, you rock. You actually took my Greyhound advice. Thats over 2 days on the bus. You're now part of my elite Greyhound crew. Your next goal will be coast to coast. Four plus days baby! So far I've logged over 10,000 miles on Greyhound and I'm hoping to push that up to 12k pretty soon.

But I agree. I've met tons of people on my greyhound trips and seen so many interesting places that I just never would have seen otherwise. Plus its fun to watch people's jaws drop when you tell them what you've done.

Oh and Ben, have your bus been boarded by US Border Patrol yet? Those guys are hardcore. Not sure what your route was though, but if you went from SA to LA via El Paso, then you must have (or will) see them.

Boarded at Van Horne Texas by the border patrol. And then again, we were stopped earlier in El Paso, Texas to check through everyone's bags.

All day Barbeque Progress

The lunch barbeque (sausage, chicken, and brisket) is now finishing in the wet smoker, You have never had smoked brisket as tender as I can get it (cured, dry smoked, then marinaded in cider and spice, then steam smoked). There will be potato salad (with mustard, green onions and celery) and cabbage (cooked in broth and cider, with corded beef, to go with lunch.
The first fire is built for the supper bargeque and will be lit off around noon (without brisket, it only takes about 6 hours).
It will be leg of lamb, pork shoulder and pork ribs, ssusage, with beans and slaw.
Shortly I will be charging the ice chests on the decks and by the pool.

Started a borth for the cabbage: cider, beef broth, chuncks of corned beef, allspice, pepper, carraway, corriander seed.
heating stuffing in mircrowave
chooped up celerey and onion to add to potato salad.
Ben kenobi and the Turburskis will be on their way shortly.
