  • Box. Came out in 1990.

    You thought it was rubbish? I thought it was terrific. Very atmospheric. Ahead of its time in many ways.

    • Damn............too late again. RotD was a great game, indeed ahead of its time.

      • Right, I played this on my Amiga but it may have come out on other platforms too, though I doubt it.
        Confusingly, it had a different title in America, so I don't know what it was called in Europe. *

        1) "Double, double toil and trouble;
        Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.
        Fillet of a fenny snake,
        In the cauldron boil and bake;
        Eye of newt and toe of frog,
        Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
        Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
        Lizard's leg and owlet's wing,
        For a charm of powerful trouble,
        Like a hell-broth boil and bubble."

        This is a bit of a mean clue, but you'll know why I had to start with it when you've guessed the game. (Other clues would have been too easy )

        *I do know what it was called in the UK, and the US, so you can still guess!

        [It is not: Cauldron, KQ3, Witch Brew, er.. Macbeth ]

            • KQ3? You had type in magic formulas to create spells and brews exactly right or you would up turned into a flie or worse....
              Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

                I had the privilege to see and hear it at someone who had an MT-32 attached for the sound when it was just out. Brilliant for its time

                  • There are simply too many witch games out there.

                    I won't even try guessing this one cause I don't want to spoil possible future candidates.

                    We need more clues.

                        • Time for number (2)!

                          1) "Double, double toil and trouble;
                          Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.
                          Fillet of a fenny snake,
                          In the cauldron boil and bake;
                          Eye of newt and toe of frog,
                          Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
                          Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
                          Lizard's leg and owlet's wing,
                          For a charm of powerful trouble,
                          Like a hell-broth boil and bubble."

                          2) Sneakers, tricksters, fiddlers and nutters! (a tiny bity of poetic licence here, but since I used Shakespeare in the first clue, then I feel I'm entitled to it! )

                          Now I said the clues would get easy!
