  • The game is not:

    - Indiana Jones
    - Castle Wolfenstein
    - Commando
    - Escape from Alcatraz
    - Mutants
    - Dropzone

    The game is:

Clue 1: Game published by Ocean in '87. Platforms: Amstrad, Spectrum, C64. Side scroller where you searched for things to help "escape".

Clue 2: The game is actually different for each of the 3 platforms mentioned above, but the same concept and characters.

Clue 3: There is a few of what you are in the game, but something happened to you to make you different. The others are trying to stop your escape.

Clue 4: Your friend is Stephanie (who you are trying to escape to) and you need to escape to avoid being "disassembled".

    • Short Circuit?

Wait that was a movie, not a game.

      "5 alive! No disassemble!"

      • It was also a game, and is, I suspect, the answer.

          • I didn't really win because I had no idea there was ever a Short Circuit game, my guess was solely based on the movie.

Wasn't really ready but here's a placeholder clue:

It was a software platform and had colors in it.

            • The first REAL clue:

This game was loosely aligned with a whole bunch of games based on a theme, but this had a unique take on the theme.

It had three distictive playstyles, that is it was for all pratical purposes three different games and you play them individually or together (full game).

                • Oink?

                  • Not Oink.

It had an rpg element, a strategic conquest element, and a tactical combat element. They didn't flow together well but I like the game. Course I had read all the books on the theme that the game was based on.

                      • That's be my first guess.

                            • Not Infiltrator.

Its medieval in theme, with politics and intrigue weighing behind most of the plots and gameplay for both the books and the game.
