  • Arrogant/sarcastic bastard.

I went to a renevation center yesterday to buy some green and sand paint to redo my bathroom. I get to the paint department and I look around to see if any clerk is available to help me. I see none. But then, as I stand behind the counter where they sell the paint I hear this girl talking in the backstore. So I decided to wait, thinking that she would be with me soon...and I wait.... Standing there, I couldn't help but overhear her conversation...she was talking to her mother about a guy she met last weekend...She was so caught up in her conversation that I think she forgot she was at work and didn't even notice I was there. So after 10 minutes of hearing how wonderful the guy was I got irritated. You know that cute little bell on a counter you ring to get some service, well, I used itm like no one ever used it before. DING DING DING DING DING!!!! So the girl comes out running saying:" Sorry, I didn't notice I had a customer!". And I say:" I understand, I wouldn't have noticed too if I was in the backstore talking to my mother about a guy that I fished out of a bar last weekend". And she gives me the eyebrow...You know what I mean. So frustrated, she takes my order and starts to mix the paint, she closes the paint can and puts it in the mixer. So guess what, the can opened while it was in the mixer!! So, of course, she screems. I couldn't help my self but laugh! I really laughed!! She was really angry and told me:" You're not the one who's gonna clean this!!" and I say:" I know, that's why it's funny". Now she is really angry. She says:" It's gonna take a while sir, I have to clean this up before I mix a new can." And I say:" Sorry, I dont have time to wait, please mix me another can right now!" She says:" I cant, the mixer is full of paint!". Me:" I'm sure you can". She says:" No! The mixer can jam if we use it while it's full of paint!". So I bend over the counter to take a look and the mixer was full of blue paint?!!. So I say:" Ummmm, I'm glad you decided to mix me an extra can of blue paint to compensate for the bad service you gave me earlier but I only need green and sand paint". She says:" It was not a compensation sir! It was a mistake!!" I say:" Oh well, what a waiste. So what's happenning with my GREEN paint I asked for?" She gets up real fast while saying:" WELL SIR......" and she tips the shelves where the small cans of paint were.....About a hundred cans fell on the floor (Only 2 opened) and I laughed again. (I just cant help it in those situations) She became all red an ran out of the store...So I went to another renovation center. I think the girl quit her job...

My friend says that I was/am an arrogant bastard...Which I take as a compliment considering I had to wait ATLEAST 10 minutes before I even spoke to someone who worked there... What do you think? How would you have reacted

I would have left and gone to another paint store rather than wait even 5 minutes.

I would have gone to the store manager after 5 minutes... They will usually give you some kind of discount at that point, and the Girl would learn she shouldn't be making personal calls when there are customers waiting.

Once the mixer exploded, you should have known that you weren't getting your paint.

"I spent ten minutes waiting to be served by somebody who didn't even know I was there! The service here is terrible!"

Upsetting people into quitting their jobs sure makes you feel big, doesn't it?

If I had seen the bell I would have used it, it was hidden behind a presentoire of small primer cans on the counter...
