  • And STILL there are people who aren't happy that the Iraqi people are chearing!

    It's absurd and I can't understand it!
It's clear that the people in Iraq are happy with the british / american invasion!

They are happy to have paid the price for their freedrom.
It was a big price, that's a sure thing, but they're happy.

why are there still people around here who are angry?

I got a lump into my throat, watching those happy Iraqi people!

They're FREE after decades of surpression!
People who are still mad or making complains surely have completely lost sight of reality.

        • Cyber: What a bunch of killjoys!
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

            • I just wonder whether the biased Arab and Russian media will show the people tearing down the statue of Saddam, of shouting, "Thank you Bush," of the mob cheering the arrival of the US Marines.

"Fight them!" "Fight them,"exhort the objective reporters of al Jazeera.

Dismay comes to the Arab world and to France, Russia and Germany. The people of Iraq are actually happy to be liberated from Saddam by the "invaders." This cannot be true, they think. How can it be true? We all know the Americans and Bush are not there to liberate anyone, but to take the oil. How can the Iraqi people be happy? "Fight them." "Fight them" scream the Arab street - outside of Iraq of course.

Victims all of Arab and leftist propaganda.

              • One of the CNN reporters covering how the Arab Media was covering the story was talking about how the Arab reporters were still wondering where the heck the Iraqi army was. They been hearing about how good they were, and how they were willing to fight to the end, and they have been looking for signs of this, and can't find any... They seem to be scratching their heads...

                    • I'll make a new post, since editing doesn't seem to work properly:
The REAL victims of leftist propaganda were those who claimed that the evil War on Iraq would kill 500 000 people. This is not even near of over yet, but I still chuckle when I remember that someone really ate that UN -stuff without any doubts.

What makes you think they are happy? Maybe they are dancing in the streets to try and appease the invading armies, so that they don't all get rounded up and shot.....

To be more serious though (let's see if Ming can spot the irony in the last paragraph), they haven't paid the price for their freedom. The ones lying in the hospitals with both legs blown off, or lying in ditches stone-cold dead, are the ones who have paid the price. I don't see many of them dancing in the streets. So while we can be happy that Baghdad has been liberated, lets try and give a little dignity to and show a little respect for those who have suffered and died. And lets remember the work in Iraq is just beginning.

                          • At this whole thread.

Of course the people are dancing..they danced as well in Kabul.

Do you guys think this is the happy ending? Wake up. This is an ending, and a beginning of the real challenge.

It is from now on that our commitement to these people begins.... will we fulfill it? That has always been the question, and not whether the average Iraqi liked his regime or not.

Sometime the innoncence is precious, and sometimes it is scary.

                              John Brown did nothing wrong.
