I'm simply just pointing out the reality... If nobody tried to free Iraq, then Saddam would rule, until he dies of old age... Think about how many civilians would have been killed during that time... if nobody stopped him, more civilians would have been killed under his rule (because of his rule), than how many was killed during this war...

First of all, I don't see anyone rejoicing that any civilians are killed. In addition I mourn the deaths of soldiers on both sides. But when an oppressed people are freed and happy I am happy with them. That is a part of compassion that some people do not seem to understand. They dwell in the morgues and cannot see the success for the mistakes along the way. I was very happy when my father had the cancer cut our of his body. I never mentioned the scar. That is all that some people can see. Their motivation cannot be compassion.
To make an omlette, you have to break a few eggs.
Or a few thousand people.
I suppose this is nothing new.
I merely hope the ones who are bereaved in this war share your stoic view of the events, Lincoln.
The Iraqis are trying to figure out how to get at the high statue of Saddam. They're throwing rocks but they'll need some help with that huge thing. Maybe they can get help from the marines...

Well curt, if you think tha Abraham Lincoln was a great leader then you cannot be all bad. BTW, I despise people who rejoice in the blood shed in a war. I find no pleasure in the death of anyone.
One thing I don't understand is why the coalition didn't take over Iraq's TV and radio once they came close to Baghdad. They could have bombed all the transmitters and started their own broadcasts in Arabic on the same frequency. That would have spared us, and especially the Iraqis, the oral guano coming from Mr Al-Sahaf's mouth. It would probably had lessend the civilian casualties if they could inform the public how to act when seeing American soldiers. Now people got shot just because they were running or because they didn't understand commands in English.
So get your Naomi Klein books and move it or I'll seriously bash your faces in! - Supercitizen to stupid students Be kind to the nerdiest guy in school. He will be your boss when you've grown up!

Of course.
I have great respect for your nation, and those presidents of Abraham Lincoln's calibre.
Please note that while I may be critical of some affairs,
I am grateful of my liberty to do so, and the men and women fighting to ensure it.
I also have no desire to be at odds with anyone.
I fear some posters seek to cause rifts online, I am not one of them.
I think everything happened too quickly. Everyone was surprised that when the first troops entered Bagdad that there was not more opposition. From what I understand the first incursion was a kind of test.
