  • Oh dear, there seems to be an error with the previous post. That was a photograph of joyous Lithuanians welcoming the Wehrmacht in 1941.

    The management regrets the error.

I must not be the only one... you set a record for the shortest time in getting to the 10+ complaint level.
My ICQ and PM's just lit up when you made the post...

            • He's just a sore loser. I don't think he really thinks we are all Nazis -- just those who voted for Bush.

It was to show that locals celebrating doesn't necessarily say much for the cause of "liberation," that's all.

                People are so sensitive, sheesh!

I haven't lost anything. As I said in a thread awhile ago, once the war started, my only goal was to see it end as quickly as possible with as little loss of life as possible.

It's not over yet, so I think celebration is very premature, especially since, as MtG pointed out, soldiers are still fighting and dying.

And I don't feel like dancing over any war, frankly.

                    • I love reading all the "I'm bitter cuz I hate the US Gov" posts.
                      Now back to the dancing...

As I said, that comparison wasn't there. People can read into what they want, but they're being a wee bit hypersensitive.

Besides, I doubt anyone could prove any of those Wehrmacht soldiers were Nazis, any more than I can look at U.S. soldiers and tell which are Republicans.

(waits for Ming's PM box to light up over claims I'm comparing Republicans to Nazis...)

                            • The markets are really celebrating too!

                              A gain of -100 points!

There is a few things I will celebrate today:

Now that the mindless tide of "war euphoria" will begin to ebb, we ca get on with the real task in Iraq, and people will stop watching 24 hour war coverage and start looking at 24 hour economic coverage: that should get the cheering done with.

                              My war predictions were right!

                              • I imagine the strings will be very strong. I mean, what if the Iraqis decided to elect an Islamist government?
even worse, can you imagine an iraqi goverment giving the oil contracts to the french?
