Gwen Stacey should have been in the first movie, and she should have died there. Let the dead and forgotten remain so.

I agree with you Mad Monk, but there's nothing we can do about it now.
Gwen Stacey and that bus full of people should have been Spider-Man's decision, and he should have lost her as a result of that.

I'm kind of curious how they plan on handling Harry's hatred of Spiderman over the death of Norman.I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara

True, but the Green Goblin (Norman) was killed in the original Spidey comic.
May be wrong, but I heard both Doc Ock and Lizard will be in #2.
It would be cool if the start a Venum storyline...kind of bring the idea in and he comes to battle Spidey in a later movie.
I'm a huge spidey fan, and I'm just glad their first movie was excellent especially when compared to other comic -> movie superheros.badams

Trouble with using Black Cat: there's already been a superhero movie with the hero chasing after a feline-female villain, who proclaims to love the hero, and whom the hero wonders if he loves. It's called Batman Returns.
And I personally don't want to see Venom in the films at all. He's never been that interesting a character in the comics, and he's a pretty one-note villain. After Doc Ock, I think they should do Harry-as-GG, because the "my best friend is my worst enemy" angle is too rich to leave untapped."If you doubt that an infinite number of monkeys at an infinite number of typewriters would eventually produce the combined works of Shakespeare, consider: it only took 30 billion monkeys and no typewriters." - Unknown

Characters I want to see in Spiderman:
Doctor Doom (just for you DinoD)
Dr. Strange
Sandman (would just be cool special effects)
Hobgoblin (we most likely will)
The Alien Suit (we'd have to if we are to see Venom)
Kingpin (with Daredevil crossover)
The cat thing is out played... I personally could do without Venom as I am more of a fan of the earlier comics. Though the suit was cool.

Doom is a Fantastic Four Villian, he'd just crush spidey like a bug.
speaking of Doom and the Fantastic Four, weren't they going to do one?
One spidey villian that I would not want to see is Kingpin, it would be too easy to slip into the spider slayer storyline. Thank god they did kingpin with daredevil
Dr. Strange? please tell me you're joking, what kind of part would he play? spidey works alone, let's keep it that way
How about a Ghost Rider or punisher movie? it wouldn't be PG, but if you want a darker, more messed up super hero, those are the one's to pick from.

"Doom is a Fantastic Four Villian, he'd just crush spidey like a bug."
Riiiiiiiight...
The two have encountered each other before, and they are fairly evenly matched. I have the issue at home in my attic somewhere!
Spidey of course got the upper-hand.
And need I remind you of the fantastic 5?"mono has crazy flow and can rhyme words that shouldn't, like Eminem"

Although MJ not appearing in the movie would have been odder, it would have been better if they were planning a sequel IMO.:-p

Since your our resident comic book expert DinoD, what are your feelings on this news?
Incidently, I am completely against Venom in a movie, unless it is portrayed as it is in USM. Even then is stretching a point.Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.
