AFAIK he has bowed out of the second. He was OK but just a little too young seeming.

I expect to see him really cut loose in the next two movies. However, he was only defeated in the first one due to being weaken from his encounter with Rogue.
I'm thinking more of his ability to levitate and kill anyone by virtue of the iron in their blood.

He's doing the second, and also he looks the perfect age - a young man just out of high school.

I agree, Doc OCt will be great...

Magneto didn't realize his full potential until later in the comics... maybe they need to save the best for last. I thought he eventually learned to effect gravitational forces with earth's magnetic properties; invisiblitiy.

What they need to do is bring in Juggernaut and pit him against Colusses. (my spelling suks) Having Nightcrawler is a plus, as he is one of my favs...

WHAT! I knew about Thor but I thought Doom wasn't hated by his subjects that much.

He's bombed AND 4 dudes in power armor show up to make sure he's dead. This is all at an airport.Spidey and Cap have to save Doom while he's unconcious.

Pretty good issue, although JMS went off on one of his preachin' binges.

Is this a result of his actions in the Standoff storyline?

No. Just because he's a Tyrant. He was going to some conference in the US, and Captain America was head of security. Cap got knocked out, Doom got knocked out, and a dude in some power armor shows up to finish the job.

Any idea who's behind the attack? Power armor implies a high degree of sophistication.

Yes, power armor is so rare in the Marvel universe.
