I'll just have to civilly remind you that i'm a draft dodger who's going to commit himself for 9 years to the army, and 6 of them I'll be actively serving.

What do you think you will like actively serving more breakfast or dinner?

actually, he will be serving in the army, but not in the combat forces.

He'll probably go my way, 'cept that I didn't lie about my health. I am fit for combat. .

I'd like to see how long you would remain visible in China if you went over there and criticized the leadership in a loud and public way.

That said, I don't foresee either the United States or China ever directly confronting each other in some sort of military showdown for planetary supremacy. Both nations rely on each other too much to afford such a scenario. Yes, Taiwan *is* the wildcard in that assumption, but even if that ever flares up, I don't think it'd lead to total warfare with mainland China. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I'll stick with it for now. The alternative isn't pretty.

Don't underestimate the speed of change in China. A couple of weeks ago one of the country's most outspoken papers ran a frontpage editorial calling for a freer Chinese press in the name of fighting official corruption. :b

Yes, I read an article about the new leaders in China recently and it seems to me they're quite moderate. I think we'll be seeing a number of changes in the next few years.

                Hm.

I have always wondered why many people consider it is better to be able to openly criticise a country's leadership instead of having the said leadership do things for the people.
