I don't think I ever claimed that Americans were exempt from being ignorant. We are a part of the "world's population"...

Yes, and even then, America seems to assume that everyone in the world is:

1) Perfectly understanding of the world situation from the American point of view.

2) Happy that America rules the world and trusts America fully.

3) Loathes all terrorists and will accept anything to make them leave.

Unfortunately, this only describes America, and not the world. Sad that America's PR campaigns have been so f@#$ed up as a result!

If you want to rule the world, at least make an effort.

You certainly are maintaining a very wide lead.

I'd imagine that you'd want to maintain that lead without the rest of the world ganging up and taking you down. Personally, I'd also like to see a Pax Americana maintaining stability in the world, at least until a better system/leader comes along.

The above requires you to rule, overtly or covertly. Accept it, and do it well - coz you certainly aren't doing it well right now. That is in detriment of both your country and the world.

Of course you need a stick. But ruling with nothing but a stick in the hope of "shocking and awing" the world is the best way to fall from the throne.

Whatever idealistic values you might originally have cherished in 1776, the reality of the world pushes very different responsibilities to you. You can either carry them out or fall.
