Iraqi's surrendering to journalists
One group of Iraq soldiers alongside a road waved a white flag and their raised hands, trying to flag down a group of journalists so they could surrender.
In the town of Safwan, Iraqi civilians eagerly greeted the 1st Marine Division.

Saddam Hussein's presidential palace is reported to be ablaze after witnesses reported seeing about a dozen missiles slam into the sprawling residence. Some news reports say about 25 buildings already have been destroyed.

Someone needs to start a thread noting the great amount of historical artifacts in Iraq.
I would, but 2 a day is the limit; and I wasted one of mine arguing with Guyney over Texas executions.
This is a worthy topic. The artifacts, I mean.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Deputy leader of pro-Iranian Iraqi opposition group - Supreme Concuil of Iraqi Islamic Revolution - declared that his group is ready to start a military operation against government of Saddam Hussein.
Leader of this Shia group has recently met a British ambasaddor in Tehran. They have discussed the current situation in Iraq.
