You can take all kind of perspectives of the situation with Bush and his plans for punishing the "Axis of Evil."
Bush supporters would say that he is just trying to punish rouge states for bad behavior.
Whether or not you agree with war against Iraq there are several consequences that should have been discussed with him by his advisors. Or if they have, then we really have a manic at the helm of destruction of the world.
If the United States does not get the UN agreement on this matter, it will be disasterous beyond recognition.
Even from a liberal perspective the United States acting unilaterally will undermine all the progress in the past 50 years of creating a World Order admiss the natural state of political anarchy that has led to so many disasterous wars (see WW1 and WW2 for examples in last century).
Unfortunately Bush has made the major mistake of pushing the countries of Iran, Iraq, and most importantly North Korea with his accusations of them being the "Axis of Evil." In many aspects that would be accurate, but Bush's unpredictability leads to grave insecurity among these nations. In effect uniting them against the US. Furthermore Bush's policies in acted without regard to popular demand of the majority of the world is further fuel to this sense of insecurity. Recent actions of the Bush Administration isn't doing anything to illeviate the tension that surround the current nuclear crisis in North Korea, as reported by the New York Times, Bush is preparing 24 long range bombers for operation in North Korea. Which N. Korea sees as a preemptive to war.
If that wasn't enough it has come to my attention that North Korea is seriously considering signing a defense pact with Iraq in order to Thwart US aggression and according to them "retain World Peace." We've seen these kind of defense pacts before in the world, just see the disaster of world war I. China has assured the US that they will back North Korea if US aggression in the region leads to war. Bush is not likely to back down on his attack against Iraq (he is not a reasonable leader), and if the chain of events go right, first Iraq, then Korea, and then China will be at war with the US. Might as well throw in Russia too, lets have a whole big nuclear party [sarcasm]. Oh in case any of you care, if anyone survived they would call this World War III.
As a side note If Pakistan and India went to Nuclear War the fallout would lead to radiation levels equal to 950+ xray's per person on the EASTERN COAST of the US. Even if there was a limited Nuclear exchange between N. Korea and the US. and Korea ended up being destroyed, remember that Korea is much closer to the US in geography then India or Pakistan. So for a best case nuclear exchange that will be the result.
North Korea has Nuclear weapons that they can fire short range and fuel within 20 hours. Across the demilitarized zone they have enough artillery alone to wipe out Seoul and the 55,000 (yes there are more there than they say) US troops stationed there. That disaster alone would almost equal causualities of the entire Vietnam War. So even without a Nuclear War this could be a disaster way beyond 9/11.
I came across some information alleged to be have gotten from the Al Quida terrorist network that they are planning to use a rouge group of loyal US stationed troops to fire upon North Korea (thereby starting the war). As far as I am concerned I dreamt the information up, I cover up my internet trail so well for certain things that I can't find out where I was if I wanted to. I thought seriously of reporting this information to homeland security. Well I'm not going to, someone else can.
We have a President that is quite incompotent, occasionally funny with his terrible speaking ability, but this is no joking matter. I do not trust him, hell half of the country would argue that he wasn't even elected that he used the US political system to gain control.
I can't report this, we have Justice Department runned by basically a Nazi, I would trust Hitler more than I would trust Ashcroft. Furthermore thanks to public opinion and outrage after the 9/11 attacks Congress has carelessly passed legislation that beings the process of removing our freedoms and establishing a police state in this country. The Roman Republic didn't become a Dicatorship overnight mind you.
My talking about this alone is enough for the government to label me as a terrorist and lock me away for unknown amounts of time and not telling anyone, withholding my civil rights all thanks to the Patriot Act.
The fact that I don't agree with the Bush administration is enough for them to lock me away forever or worse. After all it was Bush himself that said "You're either with us, or with the terrorists!"
Plainly as the world isn't going to last much longer, and we have the most dangerous set of leadership in nations of the world since World War II, I have no confidence that I will live through this. The world is more dangerous right now than it has ever been during the Cold War. Do what you want with this thread, I suggest spending more time with the people that you care about as they probably won't be there much longer or you for that matter.
As no one listens to me and because I am going to die I just don't give a f-uck anymore.
Thank you for your time, and please don't waste anymore of your very shortened lifespan responding to this, spend it elsewhere.
