    Wins and losses in the shopping mall casino of life

    One of the things about raising a family in the burbs is that discounts and specials and sales become very important. You won't see a "no junk mail" sticker on the letterbox of our house. We're always looking for something at the best price. Our current shopping list is:

    . A lawn mower

    . A BBQ

    . A TV

    . A Dining Suite

    . A leather lounge suite.

    We'll do without a. till we can afford to pay cash and b. we think we've got the best deal/price.

    But this involves wins and losses. I hate it when you buy something and then find they knock the price down 40% the next weekend.

    What are your big wins and losses?

    I got my Sony television for 20% off because one flap on the top of the box was undone.

                I was especially proud of our haggling skills during our month in SE Asia, I reckon we were saving an average $50 a day on what we were spending - so that's about $1500 that we ploughed straight back in to living it up at nice hotels, restaurants and being able to go on really cool trips and expeditions and so forth...
                Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?
