I'd agree that D66 are liberal democrats

I don't think that's really true... It's the SGP who are the fundamentalists.
What I've heard of the ChristenUnie I think they're pretty good really, for a Christian party anyway. Not that I'd ever vote for them, but then I don't have to think about voting at all.

When will foreigners finally get a right to vote! I've lived here all my life, yet I can't vote, while some emigrant Dutch guy's offspring living on the other side of the world who hardly knows Holland even exists (so to speak) can...

I overslept this morning so I voted at about 7 PM, after I got home from work

And I let my heart prevail over my mind: Agnes all the way!

And Mercator, foreigners are allowed to vote at the local and provincial level, just not for the parliamentary elections. Imagine all those Belgians voting for all those funny parties we have over here
Within weeks they'll be re-opening the shipyards
And notifying the next of kin
          Once again...

The solution is simple: stop being a foreigner

Is it that hard to become a Dutch citizen?

Oh, but don't forget to go by Mat Herbens Golden Rule:

Just what sort of dilemna do you think you have, Hueij? Your vote does not matter. The election is entirely dertermined by forces outside you control, like the Illuminati.

No way the rightwing government will be able to continue

We have a two party system in the USA so I don't vote. I probably wouldn't vote anyway even if a Socialist party could win. It's hard to say. It's interesting to see you Europeans decide on your vote though.

After ~10% of the votes have been counted:

                    CDA: 45 (+3)
                    PvdA: 40 (+17)
                    VVD: 28 (+4)
                    SP: 10 (+1)
                    GL: 8 (-2)
                    LPF: 8 (-18)
                    ChrU: 3 (-1)
                    D66: 6 (-)
                    SGP: 2 (-)
                    LN: 0 (-2)

Not quite as good as the exit polls but still okay...

After 22% of the votes has been counted, the result is exactly the same as above (after 10%).

After 66% the result is the same as above, except that 1 seat moved from VVD to PvdA.

Great result! We are the biggest
Too bad we have to go together with the social democrats

Heuij, my advice to you: you shouldn't have voted. Someone who has that little knowledge about political parties and speaks in such simplistic terms about parties better stay home

Eventhough I disagree on much items with PvdA / SP, I wouldn't dare to speak that simplistic about these parties.

Pissed it is... The old Christian Democratic arrogance is back, I see.

Well, CDA, VVD and LPF have a majority, so we'll meet again in 87 days I guess.

Is there any particular reason Groen Links has lost votes? Is it people switching back to PvdA?

I didn't exercise my right to vote in Holland, as I've never lived and so really couldn't less But if I had, I'd probably have voted for Groen Links.
