athens has been desotryed into being a monster of concrete unfortunately.
the traffic is horrible too. if youre not close to a metro station forget it, youll die in the streets
also there is no parking.
it does have some very nice places though (most are well kept secrets of athenians) and its night life is probably one of the most vibrant in the world.
a horrour city to live in, a dream city to party in, i guess.Comment

I spend most of my time in Newark, DE. College town. Moderate crime. Moderate traffic. Not terribly clean, but not overly dirty. Beautiful brick buildings and walkways. Interesting architecture. Best to visit during the Winter or Summer, when less classes are in session, unless of course you like the hustle and bustle.
My hometown is Harleysville, PA, which is a very small town outside of Philadelphia (about 30 minutes out). Its a short drive or train ride to the attractions of the city (though I personally hate Philly and don't go there unless i have to - much prefer New York which I've been to three times as often, and know more about...). It's very green, there are a few major roads that are heavily trafficed, but otherwise scenic backroads abound.
