Saw the thin-scary-shoulder-guy in Sopranos gobble down mozzarella balls in a basket... Parmesan?

Mozzarella is good when hot and layered on things (like pizza) but I cant see eating it cold. It's virtually tasteless.

Au contraire! A mozzarella, tomato and basil sandwich is very yummy, as is mozzarella tomato salad. Fresh mozzarella, that is. Not the packaged stuff in grocery stores. Fresh mozzarella is quite good.

Fresh mozzarella is much nicer than the shreded stuff in packages but since its virtually just compressed curd I dont find that it has much taste (although you're right it goes very well with nice tomatoes and fresh basil).

I'm not that into Mozzerella, but it is a decent cheese . I'm enjoying Guyere at the moment. Mmmm, French cheeses .

I can't believe nobody has mentioned my favorite cheese:

                    Gub-ment cheese.

Au contraire, mon frere- buffalo mozzarella has this succulent, decadent luscious creaminess that hangs around the palate, perfectly contrasting with and complementing the ripe sweet tomato, fecund with sun stoked juice, and the aromatic tangy pesto lovingly spread on your woodsmoked oven warmed ciabatta, damper roll or sourdough...

...I think I need to shower now.

This cheese business is getting me all fired up.

                      • Real fresh mozarella is wonderful. Put in on bruscetta with insalata capresi and I'm in heaven.
