    I thought about this yesterday.
On second thoughts, a certain chap whose name escapes me at the moment .. starts with an M, ends in a g and has an i and an n somewhere in the middle ... might not approve of that right now ...
    How well I understand this.

We already had our little civil war, remember 1861 to 1865.
Until the OBL and his people are gone from planet Earth, I as an American would hope Russia gives nothing away.

That's special. Now come over and take it, if you dare.
You forget to add this smile " "

Relax I was joking, who needs Alaska anyway. We have the same but much larger wasteland known as Siberia.

Sorry, UR. I should have written "This will make it easier for China to grab BACK Siberia..."

            And after that?

Actually this has been largely a rhetoric question, since the war on terror can't be won in the nearest 10-20 years, if it can be won at all.

I'd prefer the poll to dissolve the EU. It's where the largest part of irresponsible idealists live.

No way, proud sons of Ermak will fight for the last men standing.
With all my respect to China, there is no way in hell we'll leave our home.

Give them time, you know some people never learn on others mistakes. I guess they need something of Sept 11 or Nord-Ost scale in Europe to start to see things like we see. It's sad

There will be no fight, I'm afraid. Sure, you won't leave your home, but you'll find yourself being a minority in a big Chinatown. Well, fortunately, Omsk is not in an immediate danger. But cities in the Far East are. I am really afraid for Russia. I would be glad if what I think was just paranoia.

You've been too long outside of Mother Russia. Return and we'll find a cure Even a couple bottles of Russian folk remedy actually

I don't think we can let the moment go by without a good quote...

"I'd say that, ah ... well, ah ... we're just gonna have to help you destroy them, Dmitri. ... I know they're our boys. ... All right, well listen now. Who should we call? ... *Who* should we call, Dmitri? The ... wha-whe, the People... you, sorry, you faded away there. ... The People's Central Air Defense Headquarters. ... Where is that, Dmitri? ... In Omsk. ... Right. ... Yes. ... Oh, you'll call them first, will you? ... Uh-huh ... Listen, do you happen to have the phone number on you, Dmitri? ... Whe-ah, what? I see, just ask for Omsk information. ... Ah-ah-eh-uhm-hm ... I'm sorry, too, Dmitri. ... I'm very sorry. ... *All right*, you're sorrier than I am, but I am as sorry as well. ... I am as sorry as you are, Dmitri! Don't say that you're more sorry than I am, because I'm capable of being just as sorry as you are. ... So we're both sorry, all right?! ... All right."
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

                          WTF?

Considering that there is no such thing as "The People's Central Air Defense Headquarters. " in Omsk, it could only be a...James Bond movie?

America doesn't need to look scary. We faught a small fraction of the Nazis for a couple of years, with the help of the British, French, Poles, Canadians, and a whole slew of other allies.

Yeah, we're bad to the bone.

It was a joke. I should have put a smiley.
