One of the problems is fatherless kids, the male roll especially that of the bio father has been underestimated and mostly dismissed until quite recently.

Maybe we should not be to harsh on these kids. After all we have allowed the "day care" society and the courts to decide the rolls of parents, Without so much as a peep. Now our violent society wants to see justice....What's wrong with this picture and where are the parents, parent more than likely.

MILWAUKEE -- A mob of boys used everything from broomsticks to strollers to bludgeon a man to death, then ate chicken and got rid of evidence, according to their statements to police.

They left behind a horrific scene -- a blood-spattered porch littered with bloody sticks, boards, rakes, chairs and beer cans. Charlie Young Jr., 36, was unconscious on the porch, bleeding head to toe after the Sunday night attack.

He died Tuesday after being taken off life support.

In statements to police, obtained by the Associated Press, the boys -- age 10 to 18 -- gave graphic details of the beating they inflicted on Young, a man they knew as "June" and "380."

A 16-year-old described how he jumped back each time he struck Young with a shovel handle so the blood wouldn't get on his clothes. He said he stopped on his way home to lift up a sewer cover and dump his blood-soaked shoes below. Two brothers say they went home together and ate fried chicken as they watched TV.

Another boy said he held the bloody Young in a wrestling move he learned on TV, called a "cripple-cross face hold," so the others could beat the man in the face.

"This group of kids just kept getting bigger as word spread throughout the neighborhood," Assistant District Attorney Joy Hammond said. "It's chilling."

Milwaukee County District Attorney E. Michael McCann said 13 children and two adults were in custody and expected to be charged. He said prosecutors had not decided what charges to file but were considering murder. State law requires that some of the children be charged as early as this afternoon or released. Several have prior records for drug or burglary charges.

McCann said he was horrified by the spontaneousness of the crime, which he described as one of the worst he's seen in 34 years on the job. "This is a tragedy unfolding for the whole community, the victims and the children," he said.

Police said the dispute grew after a boy hit Young with an egg, and he retaliated by punching a 14-year-old boy in the mouth, knocking out a tooth. That boy told police he didn't know the beating might kill Young.

Forgive me if this has been said already, but in the wake of these sensational cases it always seems worth pointing out: right now the US is experiencing a 35 year low in children committing murder. The Milwaukee case is certainly barbaric, but in general kids are less deadly now than they were when I was a kid.

They don't have the death penalty there. You'll have to settle for them being locked away for from civil society for a very long time barbarian.
