There was blood spattered everywhere. It was a vicious beating. And some of those kids were only kids in the legal sense. At 18, many kids can go toe to toe with us men.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Oh how naive we can be.

Lauren: Yeh, that's a real shame. A real shame.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

How is it naive? Happens all the time. Fist fights in bars, the guy falls awkwardly. You're up for manslaughter.

People with heart conditions, you never know, they might not know. That's why you should never brawl with people.

I don't rule out the beaten to death option but that's rare - give us a link please?

Horsie, reread the article. The man's blood was spattered on the walls and ceiling of his apartment and he was dragged outside to finish the beating. There was nothing accidental about it.

Thanks for the links - but let's see what the autopsy says.

Incidents of mob violence are "tragic, unexplainable events" and extremely rare, said Stan Stojkovic, associate dean of criminal justice at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Let's not forget that, which is kind of my point.

                    Your innocence is sweet, horsie.

It's naive because in many of these neighborhoods, such a thing happening in the manner you describe would be the exception to the rule rather than the rule.

Fights in bars usually don't involve one against 20. Whether the 20 are kids or not.

Still, death could have come from hitting his head on the ground or somesuch, but he wouldn't have hit it if he wasn't attacked by 20 people.

Oh don't flatter me - I've seen things that would make your hair curl (made mine turn grey and fall out as it happens). You want to see mob violence? Go and live in Indonesia for a few years. You know how they deal with petty thieves in the wet markets there? That was fun to watch during my morning shopping. Gave me a big appetite for lunch.

Evidence? This is a rare tragic event.

And could all still be a bit of a media beat up. Let's see the autopsy before we all form vigilante groups.

AH, the beating apparently continued for quite a few minutes, and involved the use of real weapons.

Hit somebody on the head with a 2X4 a few times and it's not "bad luck" when he dies.

I'm going to assume that this is just one of your more desperate trolls and let it go...

                            I thought I said that

Irony really goes right over the head of you North Americans. Why?

When are you going to realise that English actually operates at an almost infinite number of levels of meaning beyond the literal?

                            Probably never

No wonder many people think Americans are dense.
