I'm not officially a Texan, only been here a year. But I liked Australia.

Fighting, drinking and vandalizing are not that big of a problem for the community, but drug dealing is?

Maybe I'm corrupted by the realities of a civilized drug culture, one that doesn't involve mob violence and shootings, but I always figured people who bought and sold products were simply businessmen. The problems with drug dealing arise when people who are savage and brutal get involved. Hippies and college kids, whether black, white, green, or whatever, tend to have a greater respect for human life and dignity.

I see your point, some people shouldn't be drug dealers, but the real problem is that some people are violent little beasts who should be dealt with like savage little beasts - and that means extreme brutality. I don't care if a kid is 10 or not, if he's so cruel and heartless that he can beat a man to death, he doesn't deserve to be treated with the dignity normally reserved for humans.

                      a real shame

All about violence and proving how tough you are. Hey, now they can boast they have a felony...real tough now. Have fun getting a job or explaining to future wife/kids why you have that.

I saw a picture of a wall sprayed with blood last night. This was a vicious and savage attack, with bats, 2x4s and shovels.

Let this be a lesson to you, don't go punching people in the mouth.

Che - don't know if you heard or not, but Gary has regained the lead for most murders per person in the country. What is it about heavy industry that attracts that kind of culture?

It's not the heavy industry that does it, it's the heavy industry going away that does it.
